Unveiling The ASUS ZenPad 7.0

Unboxing the ASUS ZenPad 7.0 reveals a 7 inch tab with Corning Gorilla Glass protection, a USB cable and a charger. Loaded with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, this 1280*800 pixel slate reposes a quad-core Intel Atom and comes with a 2 GB RAM. The internal storage tides up to a 16GB space with an additional room for 128 GB, courtesy the microSD slot.

When you get your hands on the tablet PC, the very first thing you will notice about the ZenPad 7.0 is the back cover design that will leave you with three words. Textured, chic and inimitable!

The leather embossed patterning makes the product look more luxurious and differentiates it clearly in style from its competitors, at that price range. Making an appearance in 3 classic colours, the tab is available in Black, White and Aurora Metallic colour. That’s not all; the removable back cover can further be jazzed up with amazing cases.  Pack it stiff and engage with it as a clutch, with the clutch-style case or turn it loud and begin your party wherever you are, with the audio cover. That’s right, you heard it. An audio cover! The 5.1 surround sound case needs to be connected separately, after you part-ways from the back cover, in order to play music. With 6 speakers, 6 times the volume and 6 hours of non-stop jamming, this cover proves to be just a perfect fit for music lovers.

And while the performance and entertainment appears seamless, capturing the moves isn’t a bad idea as well, right?
The ZenPad 7.0 comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera, which might not be a great stake for the selfie lovers but hey, look at it in the positive side. A mid-range priced tab with 8MP camera should suffice your need to click good pictures and the front camera is efficient enough for a good Skype call. Also, not to forget the tab features uber cool applications that are pre-installed to beautify your pictures and you can also make GIFs, Slow Motion videos and Time Lapse videos, on the go.

But when it comes to the performance and software of the tab, ASUS replicates the alignment parallel to the ZenFone 2 Laser (read the review here) and other recent phones wherein the ZenPad 7.0 comes loaded with a lot of pre-installed applications. This does include the Kids Mode and other fancy features akin to the Laser.

Another aspect that proves to be efficient is the respectable battery life. 7-8 hours of battery, with non-stop entertainment is a sweet add-on to what you expect from the slate to deliver.

ASUS ZenPad 7.0

Final verdict:

While the interface and functionality is a little above average and tries to distinct itself from its clones in the name of competitors, ASUS ZenPad 7.0 definitely has an edge over all the 7 inch tablets in the market with the right pricing, decent performance and a fancy back design. Rest, what are you looking at when it comes to a tab?
